“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.

Therefore He will give them up until the time when she who is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder of His brethren will return to the sons of Israel.

And He will arise and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, because at that time He will be great to the ends of the earth.

This One will be
our peace.” (Micah 5:2-5a, NASB).”

Merry CHRISTmas from our family to yours~

Love Has Come~

John 1:4 continues to illuminate my heart and mind...

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men."

I have always been drawn to lights at Christmas!
Lights illustrate HIM and cause me to reflect...
In HIS LIGHT, I see myself for the sinner I am in need of HIM.
Without HIM, we'd have no understanding, or recognition of the darkness that surrounds.

HE came...

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).

HE is the LIGHT that extinguishes the darkness that surrounds us...
self..., sickness..., separation...., sorrow....

HE is the LIGHT that envelopes the peace the world needs and longs for.

Love has come~ He is within and among us!

I want to LIVE in the LIGHT and REJOICE!

Love has come--a light in the darkness!
Love explodes in the Bethlehem skies.
See, all heaven has come to proclaim it.
Hear how their song of joy arises:
Love! Love! Born unto you, a Savior!
Love! Love! Glory to God on high!

Love is born! Come share in the wonder.
Love is God now asleep in the hay.
See the glow in the eyes of His mother.
What is the name her heart is saying?
Love! Love! Love is the name she whispers.
Love! Love! Jesus, Immanuel.

Love has come--He never will leave us!
Love is life everlasting and free.
Love is Jesus within and among us.
Love is the peace our hearts are seeking.
Love! Love! Love is the gift of Christmas.
Love! Love! Praise to You, God on high!

Calvin's Felicitations

It's just like Calvin to get tangled up in the midst of excitement around here!
He loves the lights!
So far, he's not tried to climb the Christmas tree like 'The Girls' did when they were his age!
Whew~

"In Him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4).

Merry Christmas~

Worship the LORD in the Beauty of Holiness

O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Psalm 96:9

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim;
With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness,
Kneel and adore Him: the Lord is His Name!

Low at His feet lay thy burden of carefulness,
High on His heart He will bear it for thee,
And comfort thy sorrows, and answer thy prayerfulness,
Guiding thy steps as may best for thee be.

Fear not to enter His courts in the slenderness
Of the poor wealth thou wouldst reckon as thine;
For truth in its beauty, and love in its tenderness,
These are the offerings to lay on His shrine.

These, though we bring them in trembling and fearfulness,
He will accept for the Name that is dear;
Mornings of joy give for evenings of tearfulness,
Trust for our trembling and hope for our fear.

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Bow down before Him, His glory proclaim;
With gold of obedience, and incense of lowliness,
Kneel and adore Him: the Lord is His Name!

Words: John Samuel Bewley Monsell, Hymns of Love and Praise, 1863

"Give unto the LORD the glory [due] unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: WORSHIP the LORD in the beauty of holiness" (1 Chronicles 16:29).

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

There's a Song in the Air...Jesus is King!

There's a song in the air!
There's a star in the sky!
There's a mother's deep prayer
and a baby's low cry!
And the star rains its fire
while the beautiful sing,
for the manger of Bethlehem
cradles a King!

There's a tumult of joy
o'er the wonderful birth,
for the virgin's sweet boy
is the Lord of the earth.
Ay! the star rains its fire
while the beautiful sing,
for the manger of Bethlehem
cradles a King!

In the light of that star
lie the ages impearled;
And that song from afar
has swept over the world.
Every hearth is aflame,
and the beautiful sing
in the homes of the nations
that Jesus is King!

We rejoice in the light,
and we echo the song
that comes down through the night
from the heavenly throng.
Ay! we shout to the lovely
evangel they bring,
and we greet in his cradle
our Savior and King!
