May the mind of Christ, my Savior,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and power controlling
All I do and say.
May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His power.
May the peace of God my Father
Rule my life in everything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.
May the love of Jesus fill me
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self-abasing,
This is victory.
May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go.
May His beauty rest upon me,
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.

Photo Credit: Nancy Leigh DeMoss Wolgemuth attended the burial service of Elisabeth Elliot Gren in June, 2015, following her move to heaven on June 15th. The day Nancy posted this photo, I was awed once again by the very humble attitude of heart Elisabeth Elliot had, obviously having a desire fulfilled to be buried in a simple wooden box...nothing fancy. I messaged Nancy late that evening, not really expecting her to respond. I suspected the radio ministry would have individuals in place to respond the next business day, but guess what? Nancy responded almost immediately! WOW! What a blessing I appreciate and treasure very much! We texted briefly, but her personal correspondence made a lasting impression on me. What a kind and friendly woman.
I am thankful for the many ways Elisabeth and Nancy, both, have mentored me in spiritual truths through their radio ministries to women [Gateway to Joy and Revive Our Hearts]. I am soo very thankful!
I recently came across this hymn while playing through my hymnbook, and was encouraged by it. Sadly, I'd not learned it until then, but play it often now.
This hymn is an attitude of heart I desire to have as I daily pray and sing.
