For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise;
God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;
God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
1 Cor 1:26-31
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
And those whom he predestined he also called,
and those whom he called he also justified,
and those whom he justified he also glorified.
Romans 8:26-30, ESV
I am soo very thankful that in spite of my personal apprehensions and aggravating weaknesses, I am learning to pray in a way I've never prayed before...
according to the will of God.
God has given His Word as the means by which I can better know Him and His will, ultimately that I be saved from sin that separates me from His fellowship and glory for eternity.
The past year has challenged, yet encouraged me to think more and pray more. On those days when I could only be silent, I was comforted to know the Spirit knew my heart and was interceding for me through prayer to my Father.
My thoughts and sensitivities oft times seem jammed up in my soul, but the Spirit, with free flowing ease prays for me. He's known the Father from eternity, and He faithfully teaches and testifies to me what the Father has revealed about Himself to man through His Word.
The books of Romans, Colossians, the Psalms, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Hebrews, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John have given me much to meditate on and pray about this year.
Some argue and deny the validity and inerrancy of God's Word. God's word is living to us through the person of Jesus Christ. When those who truly seek to know Him and the will of His Father, Our Father, hostile arguments turn to grounded proclamations of truth because nothing less can be desired, nor more loving or helpful. Arguments based on traditions, man's understanding, and finite, relative reasoning are futile.

As a family, we have been encouraged to read and look for Jesus more, literally. As we are learning to look less to programs and methods, people and their winsome influence and "successes", we have gained more security and faith in the Lord and Savior of Scripture. God's word should never be sought less than the books we read, the seminars we attend, or the counsel friends give us. If every blessing God gives were our greatest satisfaction, or seemingly the answers to life's problems, we would never need or seek Him! If by trial every thing we hold dear must be sacrificed, then we should consider it fuel for the flame that He wills to burn in our hearts for Him alone!!
With sooo much more gratitude than any one of us could adequately express, we are bowed in humble peace to know the LORD is purifying us and perfecting that which concerns us... To His praise and glory alone!!
Praise the LORD!
Good-bye 2015, and Welcome 2016.
Happy New Year Friends!
